About Dakar Madness In The Desert

In 1977, French motorcyclist Thierry Sabine was in serious trouble, lost and alone in the Libyan Desert. But instead of worrying about whether he was ever going to get out of there, Sabine was already thinking about coming back—to do a rally. Thus the 9,000km Paris-Dakar Rally was born, becoming a beacon event for eccentric adventurers to battle the dunes in hand-customized vehicles.
